Web Design Team Lead
Lead Sumsub’s web vision as Web Design Team Lead. Merge brand aesthetics with CRO to build a scalable, data-driven ecosystem.
Sumsub is a leading full-cycle verification platform that enables scalable compliance. From identity and business verification to ongoing monitoring, our platform adapts to different risk appetites and market demands, ensuring global compliance. It allows customizing analytics and workflows with a no-code interface.
Over 4,000 clients — including Bitpanda, Wirex, Avis, Bybit, Vodafone, Duolingo, Kaizen Gaming, and TransferGo — trust Sumsub to accelerate growth, prevent fraud, and maintain compliance worldwide.
We are seeking an accomplished Web Design Team Lead to head our Website Design team. In this role, you will champion the creative vision and strategic direction of Sumsub's primary web presence. Your focus will be on transforming our website into a high-performing, scalable ecosystem that perfectly balances brand aesthetics with conversion optimization.
You will lead a dedicated Web Design team to create data-driven, user-centered web experiences that elevate our brand and drive global growth. If you have a passion for architecting complex web systems and a sharp eye for conversion-centric design, this role is for you.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
Thinks about design as a system, not individual pages: You build scalable visual frameworks and libraries, ensuring every new page feels like a natural extension of the whole.
Understands how web design affects conversion and product understanding: You know how to use layout, contrast, and flow to turn visitors into leads and simplify complex product concepts.
Works comfortably with developers and technical constraints: You understand the reality of the browser. You speak the language of breakpoints, CSS Grid, and performance optimization.
Designs with components and scalability in mind: You prioritize the creation of reusable UI kits and patterns that allow the website to grow without losing visual integrity.
Your Role:
Creative Leadership: Inspire and mentor the Web Design team, setting ambitious quality benchmarks. You will foster a collaborative environment that focuses specifically on pushing the boundaries of what our website can achieve in terms of both beauty and functionality.
Web Strategy & Innovation: Define and execute a comprehensive web design strategy. You will stay ahead of web-specific trends—from micro-interactions to headless CMS capabilities—ensuring Sumsub’s site remains a leader in the B2B SaaS space.
Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO): Leverage analytics and user insights to optimize the website for growth. You will test hypotheses using A/B testing platforms and heatmaps, incorporating hard data into design decisions to improve the performance of our core landing pages and user flows.
Technical & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work as the bridge between the design team and Web Developers. You will ensure that your team's designs are technically feasible and that the handoff process is seamless, maintaining a high level of "design fidelity" from Figma to the live site.
System Quality & Consistency: Establish and uphold the Web Design System. You will conduct regular design reviews to ensure every new module or page adheres to established guidelines, maintaining a unified visual language across the entire domain.
Stakeholder Communication: Clearly articulate the "why" behind web design decisions to marketing and product leadership. You will bridge the gap between creative execution and business KPIs, ensuring the website serves the company's strategic goals.
About You:
5+ years specializing in web design, with a portfolio that highlights complex website architectures and high-conversion landing pages.
2+ years of experience leading a Web Design team, with a track record of mentoring designers and improving team workflows.
A deep understanding of web fundamentals (HTML/CSS) and how design choices impact site speed and responsiveness.
Master-level proficiency in Figma, specifically in building and maintaining complex component libraries and design systems.
Comfortable using tools like Google Analytics, Hotjar, or VWO to validate design directions.
Bachelor’s degree in Digital Design, UI/UX, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience.
Fluent in English (C1 or higher) with the ability to manage projects from initial brief to final deployment.
What We Offer:
Remote-first, trust-based culture. Work from the place that works best for you. No mandatory office days, no attendance trackers. In some locations, we provide offices or coworking spaces, but the choice is yours.
True flexibility. We do not fix you to a 9-to-5 schedule. You can adjust your working hours when needed, as long as your day stays productive and in sync with the team.
Extra time off. Your birthday is a holiday here. Add to that 10 personal days each year, seven sick days without paperwork, and extra time to enjoy Christmas and New Year. Time to rest is part of the deal.
Work that matters. Our mission is to build a digital world that is secure, accessible and inclusive for everyone. From fighting fraud to making online services easier and safer to use, your work will have a real impact on how people experience trust online.
Compensation. We offer fair and transparent pay, benchmarked to the market.
Truly global. We work across continents and time zones, with teammates and customers from all over the world. You will run campaigns that cross borders, cultures, and languages, and see your ideas land worldwide.
Growth built in. Clear goals, open feedback and personal development plans. We support your progress with learning opportunities and by covering role-specific events, from design conferences to marketing forums.
Team offsites. Sometimes just Slack is not enough. That is why we meet in person a few times a year. Trips are fully covered, so you can meet, collaborate, and recharge together.
Getting you set up. We make sure you have access to the tools and hardware you need to do your work well.
Friendly by design. Our logo is a dog for a reason. We keep things human, open and kind. We welcome individuality, quirks and different perspectives, because that is what makes our work smarter and more fun.
