Business Development Manager (Southern Africa Region)
We're looking for a Business Development Manager (Southern Africa) to drive our regional growth and strengthen our presence across South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, and Mauritius.

Sumsub is seeking an ambitious and results-driven Business Development Manager (Southern Africa) to drive our regional growth and strengthen our presence across key markets such as South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, and Mauritius.
This role is suited to a proactive hunter — someone who thrives on outbound prospecting, developing new business, and landing strategic clients in high-growth sectors including FinTech, RegTech, Crypto, and iGaming.
The successful candidate will take full ownership of pipeline generation, opportunity management, and revenue delivery, while working closely with the Sales VP – Africa and global teams to execute Sumsub’s go-to-market strategy across the region.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Develop and execute a focused regional sales strategy that drives revenue and customer acquisition.
- Identify, qualify, and engage new prospects through outbound sales activity, networking, and partnerships.
- Conduct impactful meetings and presentations to showcase Sumsub’s verification, compliance, and fraud-prevention solutions.
- Manage the full sales cycle for small and mid-market clients; collaborate with Account Executives on enterprise opportunities.
- Maintain accurate pipeline tracking and provide consistent forecasting.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with new and existing clients.
- Partner with marketing and product teams to tailor campaigns and messaging for the Southern African market.
- Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and regulatory developments to shape sales strategies.
About You:
- Minimum 5 years of B2B sales experience, ideally within SaaS, RegTech, FinTech, or Identity Verification sectors.
- Demonstrated success in new business development and consistently exceeding targets.
- Strong understanding of Southern Africa’s business environment and regulatory landscape.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills; comfortable engaging senior decision-makers.
- Proficient in CRM tools (Salesforce or HubSpot) and collaboration platforms (Slack, Google Workspace).
- Highly self-motivated, autonomous, and disciplined in a remote work environment.
- Must be based in South Africa and willing to travel across the Southern African region as required.
- Fluent in English; additional regional languages (Afrikaans or Portuguese) are an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
